Choosing Between Amazon Kindle 3G And Wifi Only
Amazon’s Kindle three has caught everybody’s attention. There 2 models available : the Kindle 3G ( 3G + WiFi ) and the Kindle WiFi only .
What is the difference between Kindle 3G and WiFi?
The 3G version comes with two colour options : graphite and white. The WiFi is available in Graphite only. Also, the 3G gives you mobile connectivity anywhere you are and access in over 100 states. The WiFi permits access to the web or the Kindle store, only when you’re near a WiFi hotspot.
However , the WiFi has a major advantage : its cost. It available at the stupidly low price of $139, meaning that it’s 50 greenbacks less expensive than the 3G and it offers about the same features.
Some of the common features of the two new ebook readers :
PDF files can be viewed at their actual size or with a zoom of 150%, 200% and 300%. You can also simply adjust the file to the width of the screen. The contrast can also be changed for a better reading experience.
You can set bookmarks, highlights, keep notes, and search the text ( the search function isn’t possible in PDFs, because they are scanned as images ). There are two inbuilt dictionaries for American and British English.
You have got the ability to change the font size and type, the length of the lines and the characters, but you cannot use your own font types unless you unlock the device .
You can use the free applications offered by Amazon to read the electronic books at your Computer, iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, BlackBerry, Android mobile and tablet Computer by syncing the bookmarks and notes to your Kindle ( it needs Net connection ).
Instead of a page number, there are locations. You can flick through the table of contents, the change to location, the return to prior location and naturally, you can use the buttons for the next and prior page that are on either side of the gadget.
Kindle is available in graphite and white, with the same technical characteristics.
The guaranty is for 1 year. The extended guaranty is for two years, but only applies to the US.
Accessories :
With this device you get the USB cable wanted to connect to a computer, but you do not get any case for the device . Nevertheless it isn’t extraordinarily safe to carry the equipment unprotected. Another drawback is that the charger that comes with the device doesn’t support the voltage in Europe. Hence if you live in Europe you’ll have to charge the device only thru your computer ( fortuitously the battery lasts for about a month ). You may also choose to buy an adapter for European sockets from Amazon at an exceedingly lower cost.
This year, if you are planning to buy an ebook reader, you need to definitely consider the Amazon Kindle.

Amazon Jail [VHS] $19.95 One wouldn’t recognize Amazon Jail as being directed by the same man who made Bare Behind Bars, Oswaldo De Oliveira, as it has none of the campy charm inherent in the prequel. Edgar and Valena (Mauricio de Vallen and Elizabeth Hartman) run a slave trade peddling ladies who they’ve imprisoned in a corral. Deep in the Amazon, they are visited only by men who pay top dollar for these women, making it… |

Johnny Cash Live at San Quentin $4.35 While Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison, the 1968 album that made Cash a household word, spent only two weeks at No. 1, this 1969 follow-up topped the charts for 20 weeks. As with Folsom, the San Quentin LP had to be edited due to space limitations. Now, 31 years after the fact, the show can at last be heard in true perspective. All the original performances hold up, including the album’s hit single: S… |

Live in Cook County Jail $2.50 One of the greatest concert recordings of all time. How could it be less, with B.B. King performing some of his best material before a literally captive audience in an Illinois prison? “Worry, Worry” and “How Blue Can You Get” take on deeper meanings here, although King works the latter’s camp lyrics as if he were in a juke joint. His mix of down-home humility and commanding stagecraft is instantl… |
